How to Find Your Happy Place

"The ocean stirs the heart, inspires the imagination, and brings eternal joy to the soul." - Robert Wyland

Everyone needs a place they can go to feel instant happiness. Life is stressful and moves at such a fast pace. It can drain all your energy trying to keep up. That's why finding a place that brings you calm and balance is so important.

For me, that place is anywhere near the ocean. My stress instantly goes away when I'm sitting on a quiet beach looking at the water. Watching dolphins play in the waves. Breathing in the salt air. The ocean inspires me. It is my happy place.

Do you have a place that brings you instant joy? It could be an art studio where you paint. Walking in the park with your family, or your home that you've designed just for you.

Having somewhere that brings you peace and clarity is extremely beneficial to your mental health and well-being.

Journaling to Find Your Happy Place

Journaling can be a great way to find your happy place. Here are a few tips:

  1. Think about what makes you happy. What are your favorite activities? What are the things that make you feel most relaxed and at peace? Once you have a good idea of what makes you happy, you can start writing about it in your journal.

  2. Describe your happy place in detail. What does it look like? What does it smell like? What do you hear? The more details you can provide, the more real your happy place will become.

  3. Visit your happy place in your mind. Close your eyes and imagine yourself in your happy place. What are you doing? Who are you with? Take some time to immerse yourself in your happy place.

  4. Write about the benefits of your happy place. How does your happy place make you feel? How does it help you relax and de-stress? What positive impact does it have on your life?

  5. Visit your happy place whenever you need it. When you're feeling stressed or overwhelmed, visit your happy place for an instant boost.

Creating Your Roadmap to Happy

Having a journal to record your thoughts has many benefits. It can help you better understand who you are, what you value, and provide a compass in the future if you ever feel lost. Journaling also helps you reflect on how you change through different chapters of your life.

My experience with journaling started over a decade ago when I was going through a major life transition. I was in the process of buying a business. It was stressful. Running that business took up all my time, so I started keeping a journal of my dreams and big ideas with the hope that one day I would have the time to pursue them.

I recently sold the business and started wondering what my next chapter would look like. This led me back to my old journal. That is where I found the outline and idea board for Salt Water Paper. A project that combined some of my favorite things in life: coastal living, travel, helping others, and promoting positivity. It was a roadmap to my dream business.

With Salt Water Paper, my goal is to provide you with guided journals to help create positive change in your life. I want you to explore your own mind to find those places and people that bring you to your happy place.

We all have this one beautiful life. The goal is to drown out the noise and focus on what truly matters. If you're ready to take the first step, explore our guided journals or grab a notebook and start journaling today!
